Updated Graphics, better story, more to do July 29, 2010 Mike Young I think this game could have been a 5 star game, if it included all 3 campaigns. I Just never really got into the Terran one that much - but overall it is a good game with ok graphics.
The single player seems a bit easier then the original but that could be only at the first 1/4 that I have played, we will see as the game goes on!
It's all BS July 29, 2010 Ken4319 WARNING Do not use the user reviews here to give you insight on whether or not to buy this game. You've got a lot of reveiwers with 1 star scores who do not own the game and have not played followed by 5 star over inflated scores to counter act it. Essentially making 3 stars ambiguous at best. Amazon should lock this down and delete the reviews. If you are waiting to see if this game is worth the cash wait until IGN or other similar sites release their official reviews. I own the game and think it is worth it but I'm not even going to expound upon thatat this point and contribute to this IT HAS NO LAN!!!! ONE STAR!!!!!! madness.
By the way I have not seen Avatar yet but just wrote a scathing 1 star review because I heard that it had no nudity.
5 Stars all around July 29, 2010 Dan O'Boyle 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Blizzard released another epic game.
I needed to post my $.02 here because I can't believe anyone would rate it less than 5 stars.
I played the original, broodwar, and all the way through SC2 Beta and by comparison this is the best work in the series so far.
Even if you arn't familiar wit the game, it's easy to jump in to and entertaining all around.
The competition will be bigger than Halo ever was.
Starcraft II = Mr. Mediocre July 29, 2010 Leslie Hammer (Canada) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Honestly, I didn't expect Starcraft II to be the second coming of RTS games, but after playing this game I came to the conclusion that it was "too little, too late". While I can certainly understand Blizzard's mission to uphold the highest design standards of the game and not release until "its ready", what I came away with was that the game does not justify the long wait we endured. While the CGI sequences are certainly above standard (what game doesn't have great cgi scenes?), there is nothing particularly spellbinding about the gameplay. Been there, done that, was what I kept thinking as I played through the missions. Initially I did not believe the rumors I kept hearing about Starcraft II being a "third of a game". But it is true! The game can be finished fairly quickly by any seasoned RTS player.
The OpenID/TrueID thing...this is the appalling part of the entire process. It RUINS the game. It is a slap in the face to anyone who plunked down hard earned money for this game. I have no desire for my real name to be floating out there for the spammers to utilize. I already get enough spam. When I play Starcraft, I want to escape reality...not have it thrown back into my face. Blizzard definitely went overboard with this and I feel privacy should have been placed higher on the priority list at Blizzard headquarters.

Love everything about it, the lack if lan support was a bummer at first but when I think about the amount of time it took them to make the game... I know they are doing to combat piracy, so I guess its not so bad... love the game play tho... so smooth
